BIOGRAPHY

  • Joanna was born and raised in Southern California. She went to Chapman University for her undergraduate studies where she received her B.S in Kinesiology with an emphasis on Pre-Allied Health. During this time she worked as a physical therapy aide at a variety of settings ranging from pediatrics, to sports, to general orthopedics. She then attended Azusa Pacific University for her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree; here she served as a teaching assistant for a variety of classes and she completed clinical internships in outpatient orthopedic and neurologic rehabilitation settings. Growing up as a competitive soccer player, she enjoys using her athletic background and her movement science knowledge to help patients recover from injury and return back to their hobbies and passions. Her philosophy as a therapist is to create treatment programs that are personalized to the patient’s needs and goals. She enjoys forming collaborative relationships built on mutual trust and respect in order to promote functional restoration and improved quality of life. Joanna is fluently bilingual, speaking, reading, and writing in Spanish. She is also a FMT Rocktape certified practitioner.

In her free time Joanna enjoys reading, trying out new recipes in the kitchen, and spending time with her dogs and her loved ones.
